Mid March this year I gathered a few of my New-England-based-besties who had taught me to climb this fall and took them out on one of their first cross country ski adventures. They all faired about as well as I did climbing my first time (determined, mildly graceful and generally-speaking kicked ass) and we spent more time goofing off on our skis than we did actually making it from the parking lot to the Flagstaff Hut where Jada, my roommate from this fall and the head cook for Maine Huts and Trails was waiting. My goal for the weekend, aside from having a blast in the woods with my friends, was to tell the story of food at Maine Huts and Trails as well as a bit of Jada's role and experience on Flagstaff Lake this winter. Enjoy the video and photos below!
Alexandra Roberts snapped some photos along the way as well. Enjoy a few of her faves below!
