Gretchen Powers

Hey there! I am a filmmaker and photographer with a passion for storytelling and capturing the essence of a person, place or thing. I’m available for travel worldwide and call Vermont my home these days.

Loves: maple syrup, rainy days, rescue dogs, xcskiing, the color blue, road trips, knitting, playing bikes, chai tea

Could do without: mushrooms, too much sunshine, cockroaches, surfing, bad drivers, coffee

Before we share your story, here’s a little of mine:

I’m the oldest of five, called Vermont and Colorado home as a kid and Maine, Alaska, Hawaii and Vermont home as a bigger kid and never got over my arts and crafts phase. You can often find me in an outrigger canoe, on cross country skis or in a climbing harness. When I’m not wielding a camera or playing outside, I’ll have a cuppa tea in hand, while devouring a book (historical fiction is my favorite genre) and knitting (or beading, painting, sewing or writing). I’m as sarcastic as I am smart and never give up when I set my mind to something. I thrive when the weather gets yucky and I always pack too many snacks.

From the rocky coast of Kodiak to the sandy beaches of Kailua, the slopes of Denali to to the shores of Lake Champlain, the sage brush filled hills of Idaho to the desert of Utah, I’ve loved capturing people’s “why” and helping them share it with the world.
