I met Maria at a Sh*t That I Knit “Knittah Dinnah” in Boston about a year and a half ago – I was immediately drawn to her quiet, sweet nature and graceful kindness that you would expect from someone as obsessed with Rifle Paper Company as I am. I shortly found out that she was dating a ballet dancer and was intrigued as I had never met a professional dancer in real life before. Six months later I was sitting with her enjoying a performance of the Nutcracker sitting on the edge of my seat as I watched Bo as Herr Drosselmeyer leaping and twirling across the stage – my jaw mere inches from hitting the floor. Bo with his thick southern drawl invited us backstage after the performance and I felt like a kid again picking up handfuls of “snow” and spinning and jumping around on stage. While our friendship is only a year and a half young, I’ve spent almost as many days imploring Maria to let me photograph her and Bo the next time they visit Maria’s family in Maine. This week my dream came true! The two being performers at heart were calm in front of the camera and it was clear from the way they followed my simple instructions that they truly cherish each other. The weather was stunning and we had such a jovial time chasing the golden sun around Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Thank you for the pleasure Maria and Bo and I hope you come back and visit again soon! XO G
