Kaleigh, Julie and I got up before the sun Wednesday March 25th to watch the sunrise over the sea. Four years ago Kaleigh's Pop passed away and each year since we've done something together to celebrate his life. Three years ago I spread some of his ashes in Nepal where both Kaleigh and I studied abroad and where she was when she found out. In 2013 she spread some of his ashes with her dear friend Anna who was with her in Nepal, in the Pacific off the coast of Seattle. In 2014 we baked cookies after a visit to Camden, ME and this year... well the photos follow.
The Woodman Wedding Weekend || D.C. 2.3.15
This post chronicles the events of the Woodman Wedding Weekend - sightseeing, bachelorette brunch, engagement session, rehearsal dinner and ceremony all in the span of 48 hours in D.C..
Kaleigh and Cayman surprised Taylor for a "bachelorette brunch".
I shot an impromtu "engagement" session with Taylor and Maddy at their rehearsal in the park.
Dinner festivities at the Kleinman residence.
The ceremony in Meridian Park went off without a hitch, except for the candles... those wouldn't really stay lit so we passed a hug around the circle instead.
My Valentine
I spend so much time sharing photos of other people in love that I thought it would be fitting to share a little bit of my own love story. A little over three years ago I started dating this beautiful girl Kaleigh. We met because I was interested in studying abroad in Nepal and a mutual friend told me I should talk to her about it as she had studied there the year before. A few cups of tea for me and coffee for her, a hike or two and the rest was history!
Below are a few photos of our "shared" experience of Nepal and a film I made for her for our first Valentines together - half a world away from each other. : )
Today, she has a heck of a lot more hair, and I'm making banana pancakes and getting geared up to go skiing with a girl who three years ago had never cross country skied, and now kicks my butt up the hills.
